In December, he came back to the tournament at the Hero World Challenge, posted three rounds during the 60s and tied for ninth against an 18-man field, 10 shots behind.

He missed the Augusta National for the first time due to back surgery. He also missed the cut in the PGA Tournament and had a break for the rest of the year (missing the Ryder Cup), to get healthy.

In 2013, Woods’ commanding play returned when he won the Farmers Insurance Open for his 75th PGA title and WGC-Cadillac Championship that gave him his 17th WGC award for the seventh time. Days after, he won the Arnold Palmer Invitational and finished in a tie for 8th which has put him back near the top in the world rankings.

He started with two competitions where he began well yet battled in the last round. He won the Arnold Palmer Invitational, his first win on the PGA Visit since 2009.
