Nick Jonas Songs: Here to get the lowdown on Nick Jonas and his songs?

Good, we’re about to lay it all out for you, right here – with their background 🙂

Quick question for you…

How many Nick Jonas songs can you name off the top of your head?

“I still get jealous…”

If you’re singing this song and can’t picture Nick Jonas singing beside his wife, Priyanka Chopra, then you’re one of a kind, dude!

Nick Jonas has had one heck of a career in the last decade.

Even as a teenager – and youngest member of his band The Jonas Brothers – he identified with most teenage cliques that jammed with and danced along to their songs.

That got me thinking.

With popularity unlike that of his two brothers, Joe and Kevin, who’ve laid low now, Nick Jonas has continued making danceable songs – and not to mention, chart-topping.

Having been in show business for almost his entire life – he first started acting on Broadway as a young boy.

As his career progressed…

… and he blossomed into a fine young man, he went on to have a solo career and released his self-titled debut album “Nicholas Jonas.”

Of course, with the help of his older siblings, Kevin and Joe, the Songs of Jonas Brothers are legendary.

That started The Jonas Brothers as we know them today.

Fans know – and love – the boy band for their four albums that resonated with every teenager in the early 2000s.

It’s About Time (2006), Jonas Brothers (2007), A Little Bit Longer (2008), and Lines, Vines and Trying Times (2009)

The group even went on to have their own Disney Channel show “Jonas.”

The show put them on a pedestal after their nomination for Best New Artist in 2009 – before the trio went on different paths in their solo careers.

Nick Jonas established a new band…

… Nick Jonas and the Administration – they released one album, Who I Am.

However…

… that was cut short.

He then went on to venture into a solo career. By releasing the albums Nick Jonas (2014) and Last Year Was Complicated (2016), he put his name right up there on the A-list of celebs.

But, as they say, just like the Backstreet Boys and Westlife, good bands can’t be kept down.

So, by 2019, he teamed up with his bros Kevin and Joe for a reunion album that they named Happiness Begins (2019).

In that album was their number-one single “Sucker” which earned them a spot among the other Grammy nominees for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance in 2020.

2020 was a great year for Nick Jonas as he busied himself with tons of projects.

He recorded his music while acting as a coach on the reality TV series “The Voice.”

Let’s get started…

1. “Send it On” (2009) – Jonas Brothers, Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, and Miley Cyrus

Nick Jonas Songs

The first entry on this list, “Send it On” is a pop song performed by the then-American budding singers Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, and Selena Gomez who all found friendship in Disney-produced shows.

They produced the song for a charity project spearheaded by Disney – Disney’s Friends for Change.

When I was younger, this was my jam!

Imagine having six eye candies and equally great artists of our time collaborating to perform an inspirational song?

The song was co-written by Nikki Hassman, Peer Astrom, and Adam Anders.

“Send it On” reached Top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100.

2. “Close” (2016) – Nick Jonas feat. Tove Lo

Included among the chart-topping songs of his album Last Year Was Complicated, Nick Jonas went bold… and bald!

Just kidding!

It was the year he shocked the world with his buzz cut that surprisingly fit him to a T.

Take a look at Nick Jonas Haircuts here…

Written by the awesome Mattias Larsson, Robin Fredriksson, Julia Michaels, Justin Tranter, and Trove Nilsson, the song resonated well with Priyanka Chopra who reportedly revealed in an interview that she immediately wanted to date Nick after seeing the video.

Ha!

What a turnout!

Little did she know she’d be sharing a house with the Jonas Brother just a few short years later.

Tove Lo, with her iconic voice and bold persona, added more pizzazz to Nick’s rather dark – albeit bold – concept.

“Close” reached No. 14 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was nominated for multiple Teen Choice Awards. What a feat!

3. “Anywhere” (2018) – Nick Jonas feat. Mustard

Written by Dijon McFarlane, Paul Salva, Americo Garcia, Jorge Medina, Brandon Paak, and Nick Jonas himself, the song “Anywhere” hit the charts in Czech Republic’s Radio Top 100.
Both Mustard and Nick Jonas teased their then-upcoming single via Instagram where they posted a video before the song’s release.
In it, the song’s details were displayed on an airport departure board featuring the artists’ names and the song’s title.
On May 22, 2018, the music video was released to mixed reviews.

4. “S.O.S.” (2007) – Jonas Brothers

Nick Jonas Songs

Written by Nick Jonas himself, the song “S.O.S.” was released in 2007 under the Jonas Brothers’ self-titled album Jonas Brothers.

The song debuted in May of 2008 in Europe and in early June of 2008 in the United Kingdom.

In one of his interviews, Nick was quick to reveal that it was one of the songs that “came to him in the middle of the night.”

Apparently, he wrote the song in under ten minutes.

In August of 2007, the song debuted at No. 65 on the Billboard Hot 100.

After a week in the charts, it rose to No. 17, becoming the Brothers’ first single to ever make it to the Top 20.

5. “What a Man Gotta Do” (2020) – Jonas Brothers

Nick Jonas Songs

Part of Nick’s sixth studio album, the song “What a Man Gotta Do” is the lead single of the group’s album.

The Jonas Brothers first announced the title of the song on January 13, 2020, through social media. Joe Jonas, Kevin Jonas, Ryan Tedder, David Stewart, Jessica Agombar, and Nick Jonas himself co-wrote it.

The song hit the No. 16 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 list and made it to the Top 10 of different music charts in Canada.

Peggy Sirota commended the song for having a “catchy, toe-tapping” rhythm with an “equally heart-melting music video.”

See the clip.

…husband and wife Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra-Jonas recreated the “dancing-half-naked-in-the-living-room” scene from Risky Business.

In another part of the video were husband and wife Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner recreating the Cha-Cha from the school dance in Grease.

And…

… not to be left behind, Kevin Jonas and wife Danielle recreated the Say Anything… scene where Kevin held a boombox outside his wife Danielle’s window.

6. “Remember I Told You” (2017) – Nick Jonas feat. Anne-Marie and Mike Posner

Nick Jonas Songs

Written by Nick Jonas and Mike Posner, “Remember I Told You” made it to the Top 10 of Billboard’s U.S. dance club songs.

In one of his interviews, Nick Jonas talked about the song.

“The new track was written last year while I was on tour, which is one of my favorite times to write when I’m constantly in front of new audiences and being inspired on a nightly basis. It was a rainy day in Maine, so I went on the studio bus and I started this track and I liked the way it sounded. I texted Mike Posner who was the special guest on the tour, I was like, ‘Hey man, why don’t you come onto the bus? I’ve got this track going you might be into.’ He came out, listened to it two times, and was like, ‘I love it, I’ve got some lyric ideas.’ So he jumped in the booth, and within five hours from the time I started the beat to the time I eventually laid my vocals in with the lyrics that we’d written, it was pretty much done.”

The track received acclaim for having a “healthy blend of pop sensibilities, R&B sultry vibes, and a low-key electro beat,” according to Hugh McIntyre of Forbes.

7. “Burnin’ Up” (2008) – Jonas Brothers

Nick Jonas Songs

Part of the Jonas Brothers’ album A Little Bit Longer, the song “Burnin’ Up” is a song that was released via Radio Disney on June 19, 2008.

The UK released the track alongside the group’s other single “When You Look Me in the Eyes.”

It was a smash hit…

… via digital downloads and reached the No. 5 spot on the Billboard Hot 100. It was the group’s first Top Five single in the United States until “Sucker” was released a decade later (2019).

The song features American rapper Big Rob’s uncredited vocals.

Josh Tyrangiel, a Time magazine critic, deemed the song a smash hit and called it the sixth-best song of 2008.

It was one of the songs by the Jonas Brothers themselves.

8. “Bacon” (2016) – Nick Jonas feat. Ty Dolla $ign

Nick Jonas Songs

A part of the album Last Year Was Complicated, Nick Jonas, Tyrone Griffin, Jr., Priscilla Renea, and Nolan Lambroza wrote the song “Bacon.”

It was released on July 12, 2016, as the album’s second single.

That year…

… he was nominated at the MTV Video Music Awards for the category Song of the Summer. It was the second consecutive year Nick received a nomination for the award.

Nick Jonas was quick to reveal that the song is about when someone is out of a relationship and then recovers enough and is okay with the fact that it has ended.

Deep stuff…

“In my case my life was great, it’s so good that we should throw some bacon on it to make it even better.”

Hmmm.

Was he hinting about his on-and-off relationship with former Miss Universe and ex-girlfriend Olivia Culpo?

Who knows?

9. “Only Human” (2019) – Jonas Brothers

Nick Jonas Songs

“Only Human” was written by bros Nick Jonas, Joe Jonas, Kevin Jonas, and their friend Johan Schuster.

As part of their album Happiness Begins, the group wrote the song with its producer Shellback. It’s a reggae-pop track that features “twinkling keys, groovy bass, brass, and percussive cadences.”

Kinda like their song “Love Bug” that had a retro vibe to it – only it wasn’t reggae.

The song was acclaimed…

… for its style and “textured” production and even peaked at the No. 18 spot on both US Billboard Hot 100 and Canadian Hot 100.

It even reached Top 40 in music charts in Australia, Hungary, Ireland, Netherlands, New Zealand, Spain, Flanders, and Wallonia regions of Belgium.

Talk about going global!

It hit the No. 3 spot on Billboard Adult Top 40.

10. “Sucker” (2019) – Jonas Brothers

Nick Jonas Songs

There they are again with their now-adult charms accompanied by their guitars and mics.

Brings me back to the good ole’ days.

The song was a part of their comeback album Happiness Begins that’s – surprise surprise – at the top spot of this list.

Written by Ryan Tedder, Frank Dukes, Louis Bell, Nick Jonas, Joe Jonas, and Kevin Jonas, “Sucker” would go on to give the sibs their first No. 1 single on the Billboard Hot 100, a Grammy Award nomination and a Video Music Awards win for Best Pop Video.

The official video not only featured the trio together but alongside their equally gorgeous wives.

I’m sure everyone has heard the song.

If you haven’t, well, have you been living under a rock?

Go on and watch the video!
