A woman called “J.C.” sued Bob Dylan for allegedly drugging and sexually abusing her between April and May of 1965. She filed the complaint in Manhattan Supreme Court on August 13, 2021, a day before the statute of limitation would expire.

Allegedly, Dylan – who was in his 20s back then – befriended and established an emotional connection with J.C. – 12 years old at that time – so she would lower her guard to his advances. She claimed that he abused her over six weeks at his New York apartment.

She’s seeking a jury trial and unspecified damages.

Dylan’s side denied the claim.

In addition…

Biographers and scholars pointed out that the timeline of the alleged crimes coincides with the historical record of Dylan touring in England, then vacationing in Portugal (for the entire month of May), and playing acoustic gigs on the west coast cities (for April).
