The relationship Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise shared back in the day was without bounds – at least according to some reports and close friends.

There goes little Miss Nicole Kidman and her ethereal beauty with her arm candy by her side strutting along the velvety floor of Hollywood and rubbing elbows with all the who’s who for this red-carpet event.

Reports recall his second wife Nicole Kidman saying while filming Days of Thunder with the Top Gun star, “They had me in really flat shoes, but you could still see I was taller than him. I’d prefer to be smaller, but I don’t mind. I like the fact that he’s one of the most famous actors in the world and can work with anybody – but he doesn’t mind working with a taller actress.”

Their divorce meant she could wear heels again; she now jokes about his height.

Don Simpson, the film’s producer, would also be quoted joking about Tom Cruise saying, “I’ll never put Tom Cruise down. He’s already kinda short.”

Further explaining the matter, Tom was quick to point out, “You’ve been reading the press. You can’t believe everything you read.”

Despite the rumors, Cameron Diaz would go on to have a blissful friendship with her former Vanilla Sky and Minority Report co-star.
