JaMarcus’ story starts promisingly. He is the first round draft pick by his NFL team Oakland Raiders and owner Al Davis. After Jamarcus Russell’s controversial contract holdout of $68 million, his first professional football appearance was during a football game against the Denver Broncos on December 2, 2007. He only played four football games during the 2007 season.

This is when things start to get worse for JaMarcus Russell…

Rumors of his lack of work ethic and dedication were popping up! It made sense after fans saw how Jamarcus failed with passes and fumbles. Russell reportedly arrived 40 pounds heavier for the series. He was also fined multiple times for missed team meetings.

That’s not the end of the story…

In 2009, his team discovered that JaMarcus was visiting the casino every night before the series. He was eventually arrested for codeine possession.

It’s sad to say:

JaMarcus might have been the most talented American professional football player. During his professional career, he only played a total of 31 games and started 25 times. Unfortunately, he was prone to turnovers with 23 interceptions and 25 fumbles.

 Statistically, he ended his career as the worst quarterback in the 21st century.
