Robin Quivers left the military and returned to her hometown, Baltimore, in 1979. Then, she enrolled at the Broadcasting Institute of Maryland where she simultaneously studied and worked in a hospital. 

She landed her first job in radio hosting as a newscaster at WIOO in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Then, she transferred to WCMB in Harrisburg. After a while, she returned to Baltimore and worked as a consumer reporter on WJZ (AM). Here, she read newscasts with the station’s morning disc jockey, Johnny Walker. 

Her career gets more interesting…

In 1981, the notable American radio personality Howard Stern started a new program in Washington, DC., at WWDC (FM). Eventually, Quivers joined him. After just fifteen months, their show did great, that Quivers and Stern had to move to WNBC in New York City.

Another three years had passed, The Howard Stern Show moved again to WXRK (K-Rock). The show remained there for twenty years before it moved to Sirius Satellite Radio. 

A move towards a healthier lifestyle….

In 2007, Quivers embraced a new diet to lose weight. Later on, she released a book talking about her physical transformation, The Vegucation of Robin: How Real Food Saved My Life, in 2013. 

The same year, she discovered a tumor in her body that had to be removed. It didn’t stop her from appearing on the show. She continued to give her commentary for The Howard Stern Show while recovering at home after undergoing surgery to remove the tumor from her bladder in 2012. 

Howard Stern said that Quivers had become an extremely important part of the show, that if he lost her as a partner, he would quit radio hosting.

What an amazing partner she has!

A year after her surgery, she said she was cancer-free and was cured in just three months. Her fifteen months battle with cancer inspired many. 

She was expected to travel for publicity purposes for her new book, The Vegucation of Robin, in 2013. 

Since then, Quivers became one of the best radio personalities together with her partner, Howard Stern. 

She didn’t only do radio…. 

Quivers also made appearances in sitcoms, movies, cameos, and TV. Below is the list of shows she appeared in. She was a guest on Larry King Live, The View, and 60 Minutes. She was also featured in Private Parts, a well-received biopic film based on Howard Stern’s first autobiography. 

As for the written works, Quivers released her autobiography, Quivers: A Life, in April 1995 and followed by her second book, The Vegucation of Robin: How Real Food Saved My Life. She won an NAACP Image Award for this book. Here’s a summary:
