Jordan Alexander Spieth is undoubtedly one of the most recognizable names in golf today, and with a net worth of a staggering $110 million he’s not doing at all bad for himself.
An Official World Golf Rankings former world number one, his likable, clean-cut image has also made him one of the world’s most marketable athletes.
His career is not one without some downs though…
Read on to know how he got out of the slump and started to get back to winning form!
Do you still remember what you were up to at the age of 10?
Yeah, me neither…
Well at that age, young Jordan Alexander Spieth was already preparing himself for greatness.
Yes, you read that right…
He started regularly playing golf at only 10 years old!
No wonder by the time he’s 16, his potential was already pretty much undeniable!
In 2009, he joined the US Junior Amateur Tournament and won. He won another Junior Amateur title in 2011, making him only the second player after Tiger Woods to win the US Junior Amateur Tournament twice.
As a result, the American Junior Golf Association awarded him the Rolex Junior Player of the Year.
He impressed the PGA Tour so much that the next year, they made an exemption for him, an amateur, to be able to play in their HP Byron Nelson Championship.
Mind you, it was the PGA Tour’s first exemption since 1995!
He didn’t disappoint, as he became the sixth youngest player in PGA Championship Tour history to make it to a PGA Tour event.
He was also ranked number one in AJGA Golf Rankings’ best junior golfers in the world.

Imagine being under 18 and achieving all those things!
2012 saw him replacing Brandt Snedeker in the US Open after Snedeker’s withdrawal and winning the low amateur title.
Once again, this resulted in him being ranked number 1 in a golf ranking list, this time in the World Amateur Golf Ranking.
The following year, he decided to turn professional.
In the same year, Jordan scored his first two endorsements deals, one with the sportswear brand Under Armour, and the other with BioSteel Sports Supplements.
The PGA Tour rookie continued to impress with his first PGA Championship win, as he became the youngest winner in PGA Tour history and the first teenager to win a PGA Tour event in 82 years by winning the John Deere Classic.
This win was so important in many ways. Not only did it give him status as a PGA Tour member, it also earned him eligibility to enter the FedEx Cup, the 2013 Open Championship, and 2014 Masters.
It gets better…
As it was no surprise when he was awarded the PGA Tour Rookie of the Year, ranked 10th on PGA Tour money list, and number 22 in the Official World Golf Ranking.
Jordan started off 2014 by breaking another record as the youngest runner-up in Masters Tournament history when he finished second.
The Rookie of the Year awardee continued breaking records left, right and center.
In 2015, during another Masters Tournament, almost finishing with a score of -19, he bogeyed the final hole, finally finishing at 18 under par, and in the process winning his first major title while tying with Tiger Woods for the Masters best final score.
Oh, and the win also made him the second youngest golfer to win the Masters…
It also resulted in Jordan’s rank in the Official World Golf Ranking moving up to number 2.
Another victory followed when Jordan won the US Open, becoming the sixth golfer to win the Masters and US Open in the same year again since Tiger Woods…
…and the youngest US Open champion since Bobby Jones in 1923… and also the fourth youngest golfer to win multiple major championships.
Just wow…
More wins and records broken later that year finally earned him the number 1 ranking in the Official World Golf Ranking.
Not only that…
Jordan was also awarded: PGA Player of the Year, PGA Tour Player of the Year, the Jack Nicklaus Trophy, the Vardon Trophy, the Byron Nelson Award, and the Arnold Palmer Award.
Whoa, seems like 2015 was Jordan’s year!
2016 seems to be the opposite though…
At that year’s Masters, he suffered a golf collapse that’s considered as one of the most shocking ones in golf history.
He would later say that the event has haunted him and made him question everything, and would later call it the “low point in my golf career”.
Jordan’s first win the following year happened in his 100th PGA Tour tournament as a golf pro. The victory once again made him share a record with Tiger Woods.
It was followed by him winning the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

He also received a Vardon Trophy and Byron Nelson Award.
In the same year, he joined Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods as the fourth professional golfer to appear on the iconic Wheaties cereal box.
Seems like 2017 wasn’t so shabby for our hero after all…
In 2018, Jordan succeeded Davis Love III as the PGA Tour’s Chairman of the Player Advisory Council.
The public wouldn’t see Jordan Spieth’s return to winning form until 2021.
He positively began the year with winning the Valero Texas Open, then finishing with a tie-third-place in the year’s Masters.
Unfortunately…
After his Masters victory, he contracted COVID-19 and had to take a break.
The good news is…
He did recover from the disease after a month-long break and is 100% back in the game.
He was ranked 52 by Forbes on their list of highest paid athletes in the world in 2020.
