White claimed she was the only one not compensated or asked permission before airing the commercial.
In the end, the court of appeals allowed White to sue Samsung. She was given a sum of $403,000 in damages from a lawsuit against the company.
Vanna White vs. Playboy 1987
White sued Playboy magazine in a $5.2 million lawsuit in 1987 for the publication of her photographs from late 1982 that were supposed to be for her private use and not for mass publication.
It was said that a photographer sold the pictures to Playboy for $100,000. They were sold to Playboy without her permission, as per her attorney, Louis Meisinger.
