2006 Draft

After the 2005-5006 NCAA college basketball season, Rajon announced he would forgo his remaining two years of college and join the 2006 NBA draft.

Rajon entered the NBA in 2006, where he was the 21st overall pick in the 2006 NBA draft by the NBA team Phoenix Suns.

The Phoenix Suns immediately traded him to the Celtics, where he made his NBA debut.

Rondo was signed by the Boston Celtics on July 4, 2006, after acquiring him from a trade with the Phoenix Suns.

2008 NBA Champions: Boston Celtics

Rajon secured a spot in the starting lineup for the Celtics after Telfair and West were traded during the offseason of the 2007–08 season.

It was the first season the NBA All-star triumvirate of Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, and Ray Allen played together for the Celtics. Being surrounded by the “Big 3,” Rajon quickly became a steady and consistent player.

L.A. Lakers

Another great addition to his wealth was when he signed a one-year, $9 million contract with the L. A. Lakers on July 6, 2018. He was signed to compete and mentor with second-year pointguard Lonzo Ball.

Rajon suffered a broken right hand and right ring finger in his first season with the Lakers.

On July 8, 2019, Rajon re-signed with the Lakers. Rondo earned an additional $2.5 million for his net worth for the season, and the Lakers won its 17th franchise championship in 2020, the second NBA championship for Rajon.

Another boost to his net worth was when the Atlanta Hawks signed Rajon to a two-year contract worth $15 million after the 2020 season; unfortunately, he only stayed with the Atlanta Hawks for half of a season and was then traded to the Los Angeles Clippers.
