2006 Draft

After the 2005-5006 NCAA college basketball season, Rajon announced he would forgo his remaining two years of college and join the 2006 NBA draft.

Rajon entered the NBA in 2006, where he was the 21st overall pick in the 2006 NBA draft by the NBA team Phoenix Suns.

The Phoenix Suns immediately traded him to the Celtics, where he made his NBA debut.

Rookie Season

2008 NBA Champions: Boston Celtics

Rajon secured a spot in the starting lineup for the Celtics after Telfair and West were traded during the offseason of the 2007–08 season.

And…

It was the first season the NBA All-star triumvirate of Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, and Ray Allen played together for the Celtics. Being surrounded by the “Big 3,” Rajon quickly became a steady and consistent player.
