Kansas City Royals selected Johnny Damon in the first round of the 1992 MLB draft. Damon played his first major league game on August 12, 1995. In 2000, he led the American League with 135 runs and 46 stolen bases. That season, he had 214 hits, 655 at-bats, and 741 plate appearances.
