Desmond Demond Bryant, popularly known as Dez, is an American professional football player who is a three-time Pro-Bowl and All-Pro of 2014.

He is considered one of the most inspirational athletes proving that poverty will never hinder you from achieving your goals.

Dez had a very challenging childhood. His mother was just fifteen when he was born and was arrested for dealing crack when he’s eight.

Being listed as the 9th wide receiver prospect in the class of 2007, Bryant was recruited by numerous major programs, including most Big 12 Schools such as Universities in Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, West Virginia, Texas Tech, among others.

Attending Oklahoma State University, Dez became a member of the Oklahoma State Cowboys football team from 2007 to 2009.

Bryant decided to enter the 2010 NFL Draft.

Dallas Cowboys recruited him and offered him a five-year $12.5 million contract as the best wide receiver available.

He finished his rookie season with a bang!

Having six receiving touchdowns and forty-five receptions for 561 yards, Dez was named to the NFL All-Rookie Team of 2010.

For the 2011 season, Bryant missed the second game due to injury. However, he still managed to finish the season with nine touchdowns and sixty-three receptions for 928 yards.

Bryant was ranked 35th by his fellow players on the NFL Top 100 Player of 2013, albeit suffering from several injuries. Some of the teams they played against are New York Giants, Seattle Seahawks, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Chicago Bears, and Baltimore Ravens.

Dez finished the 2013 season with ninety-three catches for 1, 233 yards, and thirteen touchdowns. He went to his first Pro-Bowl and was ranked again by his fellow players as the 25th on the NFL Top 100 Players of 014.

Bryant had the most productive year of his career for the 2014 season. He broke the record of Terell Owen for having 16 touchdown receptions.

He also caught eighty-eight passes for 1 230 yards resulting in his second Pro Bowl and his first-team All-Pro.

On the other hand, it is the same year when he launched his official apparel line called ThrowUpTheX.

As if that’s enough….

In July 2015, Dez signed the extended five-year $70 million contract that included $45 million guaranteed money and a $20 million signing bonus. 

His fellow player ranked him again as the 51st on the NFL Top 100 Players of 2016.

On the other hand, Bryant also sold the most merchandise for a wide receiver. 

For the 2016 season, he went to his third Pro-Bowl.

After eight seasons with Dallas, Bryant was released on April 13, 2018.

After signing a one-year $1.25 million contract with the New Orleans Saints, Dez tore his Achilles tendon and ended the 2018 season without playing a single game with the Saints.

Dez started to rehabilitate and train for the 2019 season.
