Daniel was born on July 1, 1989, to Giuseppe “Joe” Ricciardo, an Italian who was born on Ficarra (Messina) in Sicily, Italy, and his Australian mother, Grace, who also hailed from an Italian province.

…Ricciardo had his racing debut when he was just 16 years old in 2005 in the Western Australian Formula Ford Championship. He drove a 15-year old Van Diemen and finished in 8th place by the end of the season.

He entered the Formula BMW series in Asia and was also soon uprooted to Italy, back to his family’s native land.
In 2014, he became the Red Bull Racing team’s de facto leader as Ricciardo won the British Formula 3 Championship.

Just a couple of years after racing with go-karts, he’s now competing in European and Italian championships, being a part of the category Formula Renault with RpMotorsport. Daniel Ricciardo snagged his first Formula Renault podium finish in the year 2007.

…Daniel won his first-ever European title from the Formula Renault Western Europe Cup and later on, finished second.
He also debuted in the 3.5-liter World Series by Renault Championship and succeeded in the British F3 championship, finally making Daniel the first-ever Australian to win the title since racer David Brabham in 1989.
After being in the Renault F1 Team, Daniel Ricciardo joined McLaren in 2021 for the 2021 Formula One World Championship. He’s the replacement for Carlos Sainz Jr who had just signed a deal with Ferrari. Daniel’s teammate is Lando Norris.
