Who Is Cee-Lo Green?

In real life, his name is Thomas DeCarlo Callaway is an American singer, songwriter, rapper, record producer, actor, and voice actor with a net worth of $25 million. 

Before he left and had a solo career in 2002, the group released three excellent albums. However, his plan didn’t go well, and it took him four years to rise to international fame as a member of the soul duo, Gnarls Barkley.

The duo debuted with the single “Crazy,” which became a hit and made it to the singles charts worldwide. Their first single success was seconded by their “St Elsewhere” album, which became the fourth spot on the US Billboard 200.

He took a break in 2010 from Gnarls Barkley and released his solo “Fuck You.” Later on the same year, it became a hit, and his album “The Lady Killer” placed the second spot on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.

As if that’s not enough..

He produced six studio albums in his solo career and earned several accolades and awards, including five Grammys. He also served as a coach in “The Voice,” NBC’s hit singing competition. 

In the 2012 Super Bowl halftime show, he performed with Madonna. The following year, Cee-Lo released his autobiography, “Everybody’s Brother.”

Later in 2014, he was seen in his own TBS reality series, “Cee Lo Green’s The Good Life.”

Green’s Early Life

Cee-Lo Green was born on the 30th of May 1974 in Atlanta, Georgia. When he was just two years old, his father died. Since then, he started using his mother’s surname, Callaway. He sang in church and later attended Riverside Military Academy.

At 16 years old, his mother got paralyzed in a car accident and died two years after. In 1991, he formed the hip hop group Goodie Mob with T-Mo, Khujo, and Big Gipp. The group was having their moment when his mother died. Eventually, he wrote songs like “Free” by Goodie Mob and “Just a Thought” by Gnarls and Barkley in memory of his late mother.
