Ree Drummond is best known for her over two-decade-old food and lifestyle blog, The Pioneer Woman where she gives insights into the country life after Ree married Ladd Drummond, a cattle rancher.

She’s also now known as a television chef in her own television show The Pioneer Woman on Food Network.

Before becoming an accidental country girl slash rand mom and wife (and not to mention, a very good home chef), Ree Drummond had her eyes in making it in Hollywood as an actress.

Well, that’s not her first choice, really. Ree planned on taking up law before meeting her husband, Ladd, and getting swept away to a ranch.

It was originally called Confessions of a Pioneer Woman, which is now a section in her blog.

Thanks to her divine photography and recipes with “ridiculous detail,” Ree’s The Pioneer Woman garnered several awards over the years, with her audience growing into millions.

Her blog receives millions of views every month and understandably, she’s now assisted by a team of editors to further improve her pages.

But that’s not all.

Just two years after the launch of The Pioneer Woman, Ree Drummond organized a giveaway contest by asking her readers to share their favorite recipes.

And guess what?

The response was mind-blowing, even to Ree Drummond herself. In just less than 24 hours, she had received more than 5000 recipes from her readers!

And that’s when Ree realized how big not only her legion of readers is, but also the food lovers as well.

As a response to this, Ree Drummond wasted no time to find out if she could catalog these submitted recipes so they can be searchable for her readers.

In 2009 Ree Drummond launched her second website, the Tasty Kitchen where her readers can build a community and share their own recipes from around the world.

It has the tagline “Favorite Recipes from Real Kitchens Everywhere!”

Here, the community members can share their own recipes, try, and even rate others’.

Tasty Kitchen quickly grew in popularity and became a new favorite among food lovers. This also resulted in more views in Ree Drummond original website which is The Pioneer Woman.

…is how her refreshing blog took her name as far as the television!

In 2010, Ree Drummond made her TV show appearance in the Food Network show called Throwdown! With Bobby Flay (check out the food battles HERE!)

The celebrity chef Bobby Flay himself traveled to Oklahoma to face off with Ree Drummond for a Thanksgiving special.

And by next year…

…Ree Drummond herself became a celebrity chef with her very own Food Network show called The Pioneer Woman.

Moreover, in 2010, there had been talks of one of her books titled From Black Heels to Tractor Wheels becoming a movie. Reese Witherspoon was reported to star as Ree Drummond.

Soon enough, Ree herself confirmed that Columbia Pictures had acquired the film rights to the said book.

But as of 2019, the film is still in development hell with the shootings stalled.
