John Fogerty Career
Creedence Clearwater Revival Career (1968 to 1972)
John began his music career after leaving the military. In 1968, John Fogerty joined Creedence Clearwater Revival with his brother Tom and two other band members. They released their first single, Susie Q, and it caused quite a stir for its profanity.
Other hits of the rock and roll band include Bayou Country, Bad Moon Rising, Have You Ever Seen the Rain, and Run Through the Jungle.
Although they’ve released a couple of singles, they didn’t blow up. The band decided to only stay together for a couple of years. They created their final album, Mardis Gras, before splitting up.
In total, Creedence Clearwater Revival hаd nine top-ten singles and eight gold albums.
It was John who served as the heart of the conflict. John Fogerty voiced out, saying he should hold the greater creative control of the band because he’s not just lead singer, Fogerty wrote the songs as the principal songwriter, and he’s also a lead guitarist.

John Fogerty Controversies
Fogerty vs Fogerty (1960s – 1990)
John Fogerty grew distant with the members of the band he broke up with, the Creedence Clearwater Revival. And this included his own brother Thomas “Tom” Fogerty.
Tom and the two other members of the Creedence Clearwater Revival took the company record’s side when it came down to the dispute about their royalties. The band’s manager, Saul Zaents, swindled the band out of millions of dollars and even attempted to sue John.
In 1990, at the age of 48, Tom Fogerty passed away due to complications from HIV/ AIDS. John revealed that he and his brother weren’t on speaking terms up to the time of his last days.
On Tom’s eulogy, John said,” We wanted to grow up and be musicians. I guess we achieved half of that: becoming rock ‘n roll stars. We didn’t necessarily grow up.”
John Fogerty vs. Fantasy Records (1988)
Fantasy Records sued John Fogerty for “self-plagiarising” his own songs. (Okay, I didn’t even know this was possible.) The company claimed that the song John wrote, An Old Man Down the Road, sounded too similar to Run Through the Jungle, which they own.
But fortunately, John Fogerty won this case.

Los Angeles Mansion – $8.997 Million
The rock and roll musician’s latest property is a 9,000-square-foot Southern California mansion. It features six bedrooms and eight bathrooms.
Inside, the mansion has an expansive master suite, fireplaces, a luminous kitchen, a bar, multiple living rooms (because why just have one living room, am I right?), and an in-house movie theatre.
The swimming pool lights up when the sun sets, and there’s an outdoor fireplace giving off luxury vacation feels. On its roof deck, you can get a picturesque view of the Encino/ San Fernando Valley.
John Fogerty Philanthropy
As a veteran himself, John has a soft spot for his fellow military members.
John Fogerty donated $25,000 to the Veterans Village. Veterans Village is a self-sustaining transitional environment built for the veterans of the armed forces, and they held a ceremony which Fogerty was a part of.
His donation is to help in the expansion of the village. The funds were from the canceled Woodstock 50 event that John was supposed to play in. John was paid in advance and all the artists, so John decided to dedicate it for a charitable donation.
