The storyline circles around three friends and their professional criminal operations.

The film’s soundtrack containing a mix of Hip Hop and R&B music released by Roc-A-Fella Records and Def Jam Recordings hit the Billboard 200 at number 53.

This American crime film is about Beans (Sigel), dissatisfied with being poor, who determines that the only way to fulfill the American Dream is to grab it. 

It depicts Beans and his crew, the ABM, as they rule over the city causing chaos as their empire builds.

Although its soundtrack peaked at number 14 on Billboard 200 and topped at number 1 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, it still received adverse reviews from critics. 

It follows a sequel State Property 2 which was released in 2005.

This sequel gained a negative review but was more improved than its prequel. “Maybe not a classic but this film is decent. A big step up from the first one: better characters, better acting, and better funnier scenes…”

The movie was also dedicated to singer Aaliyah, who’s been engaged to Damon Dash until she passed away on August 25, 2001.

The plot revolves around the main characters Rose who is a highly operational serial murderer and her stepson, Mikey, with whom she shares her occupation and her bed with.


Finding she has terminal cancer, she decides to pull out one last hit, however, her plans go down the wrong path when she figures out her latest target is her new employer’s pregnant wife.

Same as the usual, it gained negative feedback from critics having a 19% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Paper Soldiers was Kevin Hart’s film debut.

In addition, this film was supposed to be a drama, but upon final print, some of the serious scenes were cut.
