The film’s soundtrack containing a mix of Hip Hop and R&B music released by Roc-A-Fella Records and Def Jam Recordings hit the Billboard 200 at number 53.

It depicts Beans and his crew, the ABM, as they rule over the city causing chaos as their empire builds.

Although its soundtrack peaked at number 14 on Billboard 200 and topped at number 1 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, it still received adverse reviews from critics. 

It follows a sequel State Property 2 which was released in 2005.

This sequel gained a negative review but was more improved than its prequel. “Maybe not a classic but this film is decent. A big step up from the first one: better characters, better acting, and better funnier scenes…”
