Look at the stars. Look how they shine for you… sound familiar?
This line has gone down in history as one of the most quoted lines ever. Maybe you’ve also seen it on random motivational images on different social media platforms.
In case you didn’t know…
…it’s by none other than Coldplay, from their album Yellow.
It was a massive success as the album topped the rank on the UK Albums Chart.
Now we add in the lovely lyrics:
Look at the stars
Look how they shine for you
And everything you do
Yeah, they were all yellow
I came along
I wrote a song for you
And all the things you do
And it was called Yellow
So then I took my turn
Oh, what a thing to have done
And it was all yellow
your skin, oh yeah, your skin and bones
(Ooh) turn into something beautiful
(Aah) you know, you know I love you so
You know I love you so
I swam across
I jumped across for you
Oh, what a thing to do
Because you were all yellow
I drew a line
I drew a line for you
Oh, what a thing to do
And it was all yellow

Artist: Coldplay
Best Album: A Rush of Blood to the Head
Released: 2002
Genres: Alternative rock, Piano rock, Pop
Rush of Blood to the Head is yet one of the most recognizable albums by Coldplay as it carries some of their most popular songs.
One of these popular tracks is “The Scientist,” another Coldplay piano ballad that may cause some listeners to cry, is a sorrowful song about a thinker who puts his work ahead of his beloved.
The album “Rush of Blood to the Head” was released in November 2002. It’s their second studio album, so the boys were still fairly new here.
The song The Scientist was also featured on the band’s 2003 live album Live 2003.
We can all agree that the album has something incredible in it as the band also stated that something is missing in the album, so they found an old piano tune, and it became a hit.
After going through a horrible breakup, we can’t say we suggest this song, but it’s a relevant listen.
The lyrics are:
Come up to meet you, tell you I’m sorry
You don’t know how lovely you are
I had to find you, tell you I need you
Tell you I set you apart
Tell me your secrets and ask me your questions
Oh, let’s go back to the start
Running in circles, coming up tails
Heads on a science apart
Nobody said it was easy
It’s such a shame for us to part
Nobody said it was easy
No one ever said it would be this hard
Oh, please take me back to the start
I was guessing at numbers and figures
Pulling the puzzles apart
Questions of science, science, and progress
Do not speak as loud as my heart
But tell me you love me, come back and haunt me
Oh, and I rush to the start
Running in circles, chasing our tails

Released: 2005
Many famous and successful artists and fans alike called the album X&Y the biggest hit of Coldplay. It was released in 2005 as their third studio album, still under Parlophone.
Did you know?
The very popular song Fix You is from this album, and some critics even said that the song itself made the album!
“Fix You” is a song by Coldplay, from the album “X&Y.” It is the third album of the song, which ranked on top in the UK and USA.
The lyrics of a song from this album are mentioned below:
When you try your best, but you don’t succeed
When you get what you want but not what you need
When you feel so tired, but you can’t sleep
Stuck in reverse
And the tears come streaming down your face
When you lose something, you can’t replace
When you love someone, but it goes to waste
Could it be worse?
Lights will guide you home.
And ignite your bones.
And I will try to fix you
And high up above, or down below
When you’re too in love to let it go
But if you never try, you’ll never know
Just what you’re worth
Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

Artist: Coldplay
Album: Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends
Released: 2008
While it may be impossible to travel back in time to the French Revolution, this epic music may transport you to the heart of the June Rebellion.
The next album is “Viva la Vida or Death and his Friends.” It is the fourth album of this band and has many successful songs in it, and the top best is “Viva La Vida or Long Live Life.”
The song won the Grammy Award for Song of the Year at the 51st Annual Grammy Awards.
The album has a story quoted by Guy Berryman, saying that it’s about a king who lost his kingdom, and every song of this album is based on it.
As the lyrics say:
I used to rule the world
Seas would rise when I gave the word
Now in the morning, I sleep alone
Sweep the streets I used to own
I used to roll the dice
Feel the fear in my enemy’s eyes
Listen as the crowd would sing
Now the old king is dead, long live the king
One minute I held the key
Next, the walls were closed on me
And I discovered that my castles stand
Upon pillars of salt and pillars of sand
I hear Jerusalem bells are ringing
Roman Cavalry choirs are singing
Be my mirror, my sword, and shield
My missionaries in a foreign field
For some reason, I can’t explain
Once you go, there was never, never an honest word
And that was when I ruled the world
It was a wicked and wild wind

Album: Pepsi: More Music, Volume 2
Released: 2002
The next album is named Pepsi: More Music, Volume 2, released in 2003.
One of its popular songs is titled “Clocks.” All the songs in this album had their uniqueness, and before writing “Clocks,” they had already written ten songs for this album
The very well-written words are:
The lights go out, and I can’t be saved
Tides that I tried to swim against, Have brought me down upon my knees
Oh, I beg, I beg and plead, Singin’ come out of things unsaid
Shoot an apple off my head, And a trouble that can’t be named
A tiger’s waiting to be tamed, singin’, You are, You are
The confusion that never stops, closing walls and ticking clocks
Going to come back and take you home, I could not stop that you now know
Singin’ come out upon my seas; Cursed missed opportunities
Am I a part of the cure, Or am I part of the disease? Singing
Singin’ come out upon my seas, and Cursed missed opportunities
Am I a part of the cure, Or am I part of the disease? Singing
You are, You are, You are, You are, You are
You are, And nothing else compares
Oh, no, nothing else compares, And nothing else compares
You are, You are
Home, home, where I wanted to go, Home, home, where I wanted to go
Home, home, where I wanted to go, Home, home, where I wanted to go

Artist: Coldplay
Released: 2014
Ghost Stories is Coldplay’s sixth studio album and their first album under Atlantic Records in the USA.
It was produced by the big names in the music industry such as Paul Epworth, Rik Simpson, and Daniel Green, and was released in May 2014.
Interestingly…
…the album was released along with the announcement of the band’s vocalist, Chris Martin’s debut.
It hasn’t been proven yet, but there were allegations that the album’s overall subdued vibe was because of this.
On the other hand, it’s praised for its well-made soft rock and dance tunes.
One of its best songs is titled Magic (rightfully so) and below are the words to this track:
Call it magic
Call it true
I call it magic
When I’m with you
And I just got broken
Broken into two
Still I call it magic
When I’m next to you
And I don’t, and I don’t, and I don’t, and I don’t
No, I don’t, it’s true
No, I don’t, no, I don’t, no, I don’t, no, I don’t
Want anybody else but you
No, I don’t, no, I don’t, no, I don’t, no, I don’t
No, I don’t, it’s true
No, I don’t, no, I don’t, no, I don’t, no, I don’t
Want anybody else but you
Ooh-ooh, ooh, ooh
Call it magic
Cut me into two
And with all your magic
I disappear from view
And I can’t get over
Can’t get over you
Still I call it magic
Such a precious jewel
And I don’t, and I don’t, and I don’t, and I don’t
No, I don’t, it’s true
No, I don’t, no, I don’t, no, I don’t, no, I don’t
Want anybody else but you
No, I don’t, no, I don’t, no, I don’t, no, I don’t
No, I don’t, it’s true
No, I don’t, no, I don’t, no, I don’t, no, I don’t
Want anybody else but you
Wanna fall
Fall so far
I wanna fall
Fall so hard
And I call it magic
And I call it true
I call it ma-, ma-ma-magic
Ooh-ooh, ooh, ooh
Ooh-ooh, ooh, ooh
Ooh-ooh, ooh, ooh
Ooh-ooh, ooh, ooh
And if you were to ask me
After all that we’ve been through
“Still believe in magic?”
Oh, yes, I do
Oh, yes, I do
Oh, yes, I do
Oh, yes, I do
Of course, I do

#7. Music of the Spheres
After their successful concept album X&Y, Coldplay has impressed yet again with another one, and let me tell you: this is intoxicating in its goodness.
Music of The Spheres is the last but definitely not the least best Coldplay album. As a matter of fact, it may just be one of the best-loved ones.
This album is the band’s ninth studio album under Parlophone and Atlantic Records. It’s produced by Max Martin, who was then a fairly new producer to Coldplay’s discography.
What’s more epic?
It has guest appearances from the biggest names in the music industry of its day such as the Korean boyband BTS, Selena Gomez, Jacob Collier, and We Are King!
This stunning album was certified Platinum in France and Gold in Italy, Poland, and the United Kingdom.
The track My Universe is easily its biggest hit. It’s a collaboration between Coldplay and BTS. The song premiered at number three on the UK Singles Chart, making it the chart’s “biggest week of the year in downloads.”
The lovely lyrics are as follows:
You (you), you are (you are) my universe
And I (I) just want (just want) to put you first
And you (you), you are (you are) my universe, and I
In the night, I lie and look up at you
When the morning comes, I watch you rise
There’s a paradise they couldn’t capture
That bright infinity inside your eyes
매일 밤 네게 날아가 (가)
꿈이란 것도 잊은 채
나 웃으며 너를 만나 (나)
Never-ending forever, baby
You (you), you are (you are) my universe
And I (I) just want (just want) to put you first
And you (you), you are (you are) my universe
And you make my world light up inside
어둠이 내겐 더 편했었지
길어진 그림자 속에서 (eyes)
And they said that we can’t be together
Because, because we come from different sides
You (you), you are (you are) my universe
And I (I) just want (just want) to put you first
And you (you), you are (you are) my universe
And you make my world light up inside
My universe (doo-doo, doo-doo)
My universe (doo-doo, doo-doo)
My universe (doo-doo, doo-doo)
(You make my world)
You make my world light up inside
You make my world light up inside
When I’m without you, I’m crazy
자 어서 내 손을 잡아 (아)
We are made of each other, baby
You (you), you are (you are) my universe
And I (I) just want (just want) to put you first
And you (you), you are (you are) my universe
And you make my world light up inside
My universe (you, you are)
My universe (I just want)
My universe (you, you are my universe, and I)

Conclusion: Coldplay Albums Ranked
What’s kept Coldplay going for so long? Their music is intensely intimate, experimental, and existential.
Listening to a Coldplay album can transfer you to another realm, send you back in time to the 1700s, or allow you to investigate the inner workings of the human mind.
Suffice to say…
Coldplay is a band that everyone- from people who enjoy deep, cerebral music, to those who just want to clear their minds- can enjoy.
And to say that their lyrics are epic is an understatement.
